There is no better way of declaring your formal commitment and profound love for one another than with a commitment ceremony.

Commitment ceremonies are a popular choice for same sex couples who are unable to marry under current Australian Law. They are also a preferred option for couples who hold alternative beliefs or for those who are unable to enter into a marriage.

A commitment ceremony gives all couple’s the opportunity to officially acknowledge their love and devotion for one another while validating their relationship as life partners in front of those who they hold dear.

Promises and Pledges are Important

A commitment ceremony has a very similar format to a wedding, except there are no legal requirements, conditions or wording. It is a deeply meaningful ceremony where promises and pledges are made to one another and can include rings being exchanged and blessings bestowed.

Rituals such as wine ceremonies, ring warmings, the releasing of butterflies or doves, lighting of candles or sand ceremonies can be incorporated into your commitment ceremony.

Poetry, music and readings are other popular additions to a commitment ceremony and add symbolic meaning to your union.

On the day, I will give you a beautifully presented copy of your ceremony and a certificate which can be signed, commemorating your love and official commitment to one another.
